Mount Etna Lava Eruption
The Etna is an active volcano and this means that eruptions can occur at all times. Should you be lucky and be in Sicily at that particular time, we recommend our excursion, to admire the explosions and fresh lava streams from nearby.
An excursion during an eruption is the best occasion to experience an unforgettable show on the Etna. You will reach our starting point with your own vehicle and from there we will start our hike to the viewpoint.
The excursion includes an experienced English-Italian speaking guide, who will explain you the aspects of the volcano and the eruption.
Info Etna Eruption Tour
- Guide: During the tour a guide will explain you the most interesting phenomena of the eruptive Volcano and will take you to the nearest point to watch the current eruption. The hike is not considered easy; it lasts about 5 hours, covers a distance of about 9 km (round trip), and has an elevation gain of 300 meters.
- The Tour is not suitable for children.
- Recommendations: We recommend sturdy shoes, adequate clothes according to the weather, headlamp (mandatory for night-time return!), something to drink and some snacks, and do not forget your camera, of course!
- What’s also included: if scheduled: equipment like helmet
